TAILORED EQ FIT FOR A KING
This one-of-a-kind circuit design features EQ controls in different parts of the circuit that are totally independent. The specific ranges and frequencies of these controls were voiced for Marcus, making it impossible to dial in a bad sound.
The VOLUME control
The Volume knob on this amp is as much a tone control as the Sing and Deep controls due to the circuit design and how it interacts with the dynamics of your playing. With the MK Ultra being a cathode-biased amp, it is urgent, with a fast response time at low volume settings, making it a perfect partner for your pedal board. As you increase the volume control you will hear more saturation with the 6L6s starting to break up, giving you a spongy attack that will start to sing and make you want to play more and more. Even at full volume, you still have clear control via your guitar's volume knob.
The SING (treble) control
This can also be described as a variation input bright control, bringing you the tone you need for the atmosphere you're playing in. Adjust the sound to pair perfectly with your guitar.
The DEEP (bass) control
Think of this as more of an overall thickening to the sound. Start with it all the way down and, after finding the Volume and Sing levels you want, increase the Deep control until you find the thickness you want.
It's worth noting that the MK Ultra ships with three medium sized control knobs fitted to the amplifier, the large volume control knob can be found within the box.
