The Novo Serus J from the Nucleus Series brings together classic offset attitude and Novo's unmistakable hand-built character. Finished in Amber with a light distress level and a matching peghead, it has a warm, vintage-inspired look that immediately recalls the cool, understated vibe of Elvis Costello's old Jazzmaster. It feels familiar, stylish and full of personality the moment you pick it up.
The body is crafted from tempered pine, giving the guitar a lively, resonant response with a fast attack and a rich, musical midrange. Paired with a tempered maple 4/4 neck and an East Indian rosewood fingerboard, the Serus J has a balanced, expressive voice that works beautifully across clean, edge-of-breakup and driven tones. The Medium C (.830") neck shape offers a comfortable, vintage-leaning feel, while the 9.5"-14" compound radius keeps bends smooth and chords effortless across the entire fingerboard.
A pair of Fralin P-90s with black covers deliver the punch, clarity and harmonic complexity that define great P-90 tone. They offer the perfect blend of single-coil articulation and midrange growl, giving the Serus J a wide dynamic range and a voice that cuts through a mix without ever sounding harsh. The 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard frames the pickups beautifully and reinforces the guitar's classic offset aesthetic.
Hardware is premium throughout. The Mastery M1 bridge and NV vibrato with Lightning Bolt arm provide exceptional stability, smooth feel and precise intonation, making the guitar feel expressive and rock solid under the hand. Black Witch Hat knobs for volume and tone, along with a black toggle switch tip, complete the look with period-correct flair. Jescar 47095 medium nickel-silver frets ensure durability and smooth playability, while Stringjoy 10-48 strings give the guitar a balanced, responsive feel straight out of the case.
