The refreshed 16 Series from Martin represents a range of guitars built for the working musician - suited for gigging, recording and practice. It has modern playability in mind but retains its roots in traditional Martin heritage - iconic vintage tones and classic aesthetics which will feel at home for those looking for that unmistakeable Martin voice whilst having the comfort of an easy playing and practical, durable guitar.
The new DSS-16E 1935 Burst introduces a striking new voice to the 16 Series, matching timeless visual appeal with a rich, deep vintage tone. Featuring a classy sloped-shoulder dreadnought design provides a natural, comforting tone - paired with a shorter 24.9" scale length it feels super easy to play and brings sweet warmth. With a gloss solid Spruce top and satin solid Mahogany back and sides, it delivers great punch but retains a strong midrange with a smooth, focused low end and clean highs - ideal for recording.
Thanks to its traditional scalloped X-bracing design, it resonates beautifully and has tonnes of sustain. Thanks to a satin finished Modified Low Oval neck profile and 1 3/4" nut width, it's super comfortable to play.
Loaded with an LR Baggs Element pickup, it's ready to hit the stage! A bold, warm sounding acoustic guitar with all the hallmarks of a classic.
