Description

Introducing the Lowden O-50 from the prestigious 50 Series, the pinnacle of acoustic guitar craftsmanship. If you're a discerning musician who demands nothing but the absolute best, this is the guitar for you. Crafted in the Lowden Custom Shop, the 50 Series represents the epitome of quality and artistry, featuring master grade tone woods meticulously handpicked for their exceptional tonal and visual properties.

When these exquisite tone woods arrive at the Lowden workshop, they undergo multiple re-gradings to ensure that only the rarest and most exceptional pieces are reserved for the 50 Series. This meticulous selection process guarantees that every 50 Series guitar benefits both visually and tonally from these extraordinary woods. Simply put, the 50 Series showcases the very best that Lowden has to offer.

The aesthetic appointments of the O-50 are nothing short of breathtaking. Highly figured wood bindings, purflings on the top, sides, and back, and an exquisite seven-piece hand-inlaid back centre seam are just the beginning. Adorned with an abalone and figured wood rosette, an extended maple-bound ebony fingerboard, and bookmatched ebony front and back head facings, the O-50 is a work of art that exudes elegance and sophistication.

Beyond its stunning appearance, the O-50 delivers an unparalleled sonic experience. The O shape, Lowden's original soundbox design created by George Lowden himself in 1976, remains unchanged to this day. This design, combined with carefully voiced bracing and soundbox geometry, enhances the treble response while maintaining a balanced tonal character. The O-50's voice is uniquely its own, standing out amongst large-bodied guitars with its rich and well-defined sound.

The back and sides of the O-50 are crafted from master grade East Indian Rosewood, known for its tonal clarity, depth, and resonance. The soundboard is made from master grade Adirondack Spruce, chosen for its exceptional tonal projection and dynamic range. The neck features a five-piece construction using the finest Mahogany and Rosewood, ensuring stability, strength, and optimal tonal transfer.

Playing the O-50 is a joyous experience. Its extended curved-end ebony fingerboard with maple bindings not only adds to the guitar's visual appeal but also provides a comfortable and smooth playing surface. The GL standard neck profile, measuring 45mm at the nut and extending to 57mm at the 14th fret, offers a perfect balance between playability and comfort.

Finishing touches such as figured Koa binding, Mahogany-Maple-Rocklite purflings, and Gotoh Gold 510 tuners with ebony buttons further demonstrate the attention to detail and commitment to excellence that define the O-50. It comes fitted with Lowden Light Gauge 12-53 strings, meticulously chosen to bring out the guitar's true voice.

If you're ready to elevate your musical journey to new heights, the Lowden O-50 from the 50 Series is your instrument of choice. Crafted with uncompromising passion and expertise, this guitar embodies the pinnacle of acoustic guitar craftsmanship, delivering exquisite tone, breathtaking aesthetics, and an unmatched playing experience. Experience the very best that Lowden has to offer with the O-50.
