Description

Introducing the Lowden 50 Series F-50 Acoustic Guitar - where craftsmanship, tone, and aesthetics converge to create an unparalleled musical experience. Designed in the renowned Lowden Custom Shop, this guitar represents the pinnacle of quality and innovation. If you demand the very best, the F-50 is your answer.

At the heart of the 50 Series lies a meticulous selection of Master Grade tone woods, handpicked for their exceptional tonal and visual properties. These woods are regraded multiple times, ensuring that only the rarest and most exceptional pieces are reserved for the 50 Series. The result? A guitar that benefits both visually and sonically from this extraordinary wood selection. When George Lowden and his team craft a 50 Series guitar, they are crafting the very best that Lowden can offer.

Aesthetically, the F-50 stands out with its highly figured wood bindings, purflings on the top, sides, and back, a seven-piece hand-inlaid back centre seam, an exquisite abalone and figured wood rosette, an extended maple-bound ebony fingerboard, and perfectly bookmatched ebony front and back head facings. These intricate details elevate the F-50 to a work of art, reflecting the dedication to craft skills and precision.

In terms of playability, the F-50 boasts a flatpicking-friendly "F" shape that produces exceptional projection and midrange response. Originally designed in 1982 and refined in 2003, this model has become a favourite among flatpickers, fingerstyle players, blues guitarists, and more. The soundbox geometry and bracing are expertly voiced to maintain a balanced tonal bias, favouring neither treble nor bass, allowing your music to shine through with clarity and presence.

The tonewood selection includes Master Grade Madagascan Rosewood for the back and sides, producing rich and resonant tones, while the soundboard features Master Grade Sinker Redwood, known for its responsiveness and warmth. The five-piece Mahogany and Rosewood neck, along with the Ebony fingerboard adorned with maple bindings, offers smooth playability and a comfortable neck profile known as the GL standard, measuring 45mm at the nut and extending to 57mm at the 14th fret.

Additional premium features include Tasmanian Blackwood binding, Mahogany-Maple-Rocklite purflings, and Gotoh Gold 510 tuners with Ebony buttons. Moreover, the optional soundbox bevel, originally introduced on the Pierre Bensusan signature model, enhances comfort by providing a curved wood surface on the upper bout.

Strung with Lowden Light Gauge 12-53 strings, the F-50 delivers a balanced and articulate response across the entire tonal spectrum. Whether you're a professional musician seeking the ultimate instrument or a dedicated enthusiast in pursuit of acoustic perfection, the Lowden 50 Series F-50 Acoustic Guitar is your gateway to a world of musical excellence.
