The PCBE12 features a grand concert body with a laminated spruce top and okoume back and sides. The round soundhole has a striking tortoiseshell rosette. The neck has a 20-fret fingerboard with small white dot position markers. The electronics consist of an Ibanez under-saddle pickup connected to an AEQ-2T preamp with on-board tuner powered by a 9V battery and a 1/4" stereo end-pin output jack.

Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp w/Onboard tuner
The AEQ-2T preamp is specifically-designed to adjust the bass and treble frequencies and allows operation of the built-in tuner without the instrument being plugged in.

Okoume back and sides
The Okoume back and sides generate a woody, warm tone when the bass is played softly and provide punchy high-mids with a clear projection when played louder.
