Description

If youre a Metallica fan youve almost certainly witnessed the infernal majesty of this V before, it was, after all, the very guitar that kick started Kirks love of Gibson. Purchased to fill a tonal void in his rig, and inspired by the iconic Flying V players Kirk admired, this 1979 model has a rich and storied past! Were extremely excited to announce this 200 piece Murphy Lab re-issue.

The Gibson Custom Kirk Hammett '79 Flying V is the ultimate way to experience what makes the Flying V so special. With a solid Mahogany body, this model is finished in stunning Murphy Lab aged Ebony Nitrocellulose lacquer, it even features layered black tape across the back of the guitar, this is true to the original instrument. It is brilliantly weighted and super resonant, perfect for cutting through with those heavy Thrash Metal riffs!

With a 24.75 Mahogany neck this Flying V feels comfortable and familiar, it boasts an Indian Rosewood fingerboard with a vintage spec radius, 22 medium jumbo frets and dot inlays. Its super quick and easy to navigate, perfect for nailing those solos!

Classic Kirk Hammett tones come courtesy of a pair of T-Type Humbuckers. This set is voiced to capture the dynamics of Kirks touch sensitive playing. Thanks to a pair of volumes controls alongside a master tone control you can really sculpt your sound to taste.

Finished off with a custom replica bridge and stopbar tailpiece alongside M6 Schaller tuners you can expect killer stability. Its a real powerhouse, this Gibson Flying V comes complete with a custom Flying V hardcase for great protection at home and on the road.

This run is limited to just 200 units worldwide
