The Gibson USA Firebird Studio T 2017 is a slightly new take on the powerhouse rock machine that is the Gibson Firebird. Taking the classic Firebird design, Gibson have pushed it forwards by focussing on what modern guitarists want most, tone and playability.
The hand selected 3-piece Mahogany body, finished in the iconic Pelham Blue, is lightweight and with the set Mahogany neck offers monster sustain. A slightly thicker Rosewood fingerboard delivers greater sonic depth while the slim taper neck profile is fast and smooth.
Traditionally, Firebirds are equipped with mini humbuckers but for the 2017 model Gibson have loaded in a pair of 496T and R full size humbuckers. These versatile pickups open the Firebird up to a much wider range of styles and demands.
