The Fender Custom Shop Jason Smith Masterbuilt Garage Mod Stratocaster is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The Ash body is finished in a really authentically aged heavy Relic Black. This nitro finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further, it also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively. With the appearance of a guitar that is fresh from the rigours of touring, this is one seriously cool cat.
The Quartersawn Maple neck is real comfortable. With a '60 Oval C profile, 9.5"-12" compound radius and 6105 frets its super resonant and feels incredible underhand. The Maple fingerboard is a treat to play, perfectly balanced and with flawless playability right up the neck, it's a real player's piece.
The real magic of this guitar is the Duncan Zebra '78 slanted humbucker. Despite only have one pickup, the switching on this guitar makes for an incredibly versatile beast. The 5 way switch utilises 5 individual tonal options, position 1 is the full humbucker, 2 is a split bucker, 3 features a cap on the rear coil, 4 is full bucker with an underdrive cap to clean up the sound, while position 5 features both the rear coil cap and the underdrive. It's a lot of tone for just one pickup, it's a real monster!
