The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Limited Edition '57 Esquire they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. An Ash body is finished in a classic wide fade 2-Tone Sunburst Journeyman finish. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The Rosewood neck is also finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, 21 6105 frets and a 25.5" scale length, it's a real joy to play. With a '57 soft V profile, it feels great underhand.
With a handwound '58 Telecaster pickup in the bridge position, this Esquire really does capture that vintage, no nonsense tone.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
