We first saw one of thes emodels at the 2014 Winter NAMM show and it was love at first site! Koa is one of our favourite tonewoods, so we was super excited to see Martin use it on one of their high-end models.

This is what Martin have to say about this truly stunning guitar:

"Based upon a pristine 1921 000-28K from the Martin Museum collection, this slotted head 12-fret is a completely faithful recreation of the original, featuring flamed Hawaiian koa top, back and sides, hide glue construction and a hand shaped neck without a truss rod."

THis guitar has a massive sound, which isn't what you would normally expect from an all Koa guitar. It still has that signature Martin mid-range and low end but with a large dollop of classic Koa "shimmer"

The adirondack spruce top-bracing certainly helps the note to really jump out and balances out the Koa shimmer.

It's one of the most enjoyable Martin guitars i've ever had the experience of playing, the action is smooth and low and the tension is lovely and light, it's really sweet!
