Atkin Retrospective OM

Another ace guitar from Alister Atkin - He's totally onto something with these 'retrospective' series of acoustic guitars, as they certainly have their roots in the pre-war designs but have some sweet up to date touches for the modern guitar player.
This little beauty has a "torrified" Sitka spruce top, which is something we're starting to see more and more of these days. It's a process that involves heat treating the wood, to remove as much moisture as possible, which in turn stops the top from unwanted movement and stiffens it up like an old guitar, which yields a powerful yet resonsive tone.
This example has been up-specced a little with madagascan rosewood binding. Very classy.
This is a great desert island guitar, as it can nail fingerpicking and strumming with ease.
Hand-built by a small team in Kent, UK!
