Gibson SJ-200 Original w/LR Baggs HiFi DNA - Vintage Sunburst

King of the Flat-Tops, the Gibson SJ-200 is a household name for guitar players all over the world. Since its debut back in 1937, the SJ-200 has become a firm favourite with players as varied as Elvis, Pete Townshend and Bob Dylan. With its distinctive appearance and beautifully balanced tone, it's a guitar that has certainly passed the test of time.

Today, as popular as ever, the new SJ-200 Original features a Sitka Spruce top on a hand selected Flame Maple back and sides. With a deep, resonant and real powerful sound it's immediately recognisable and serves well both fingerpicking and strumming big chords.

With a Rounded profile Maple neck and beautiful Rosewood fingerboard, the SJ-200 Original features Mother-of-Pearl Graduated Crown inlays. It's comfortable, poised and ready to play.

Made in the USA, the Gibson SJ-200 Original in Vintage Sunburst is a real beaut, as iconic as ever it's a real players guitar.

One of the most important features of this guitar is the LR Baggs HiFi DNA pickup, which LR Baggs designed in close collaboration with the Gibson Montana team. This pickup is exclusive to Gibson guitars and is designed to deliver an amplified version of the guitar's natural voice without drastically altering or affecting the guitar's tone. This active system uses two lightweight sensors mounted on the internal bridge plate. The sensors are matched with optimised individual preamps to deliver a full-bodied amplified acoustic tone that lets the guitar's character and personality come through. The system also includes volume and tone controls, which are mounted in the soundhole, so you can quickly adjust your tone if needed.

The Original represents the best of a timeless design - a true classic built on tradition and epic heritage but with a few discreet modern perks which make it ideal for today's gigging musician.
