We're thrilled to announce the expansion of the widely acclaimed Murphy Lab Collection with the addition of legendary Gibson acoustic models with Murphy Lab Heavy Aging. These stunning recreations are full of character, vibe, and of course, that vintage tone!

The Gibson J-45 is one of the most iconic acoustic guitars of all time. Since its release back in 1942, it has developed a reputation as the finest workhorse acoustic around; with its full, rich tone and effortless playability it's easy to understand why. This new Murphy Lab J-45 pays tribute to those classic models, most specifically the incredible 1942 edition.

This Murphy Lab 1942 Banner J-45 begins with a Thermally Aged Red Sitka Sprue top. that is supported with Gibsons traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing, creating a vintage-inspired tone. The back and sides are crafted from solid Mahogany and look truly stunning, it perfectly complements the rich Spruce top. The Aged Vintage Sunburst finish is visually stunning and features some awesome lacquer checking, the attention to detail is second to none! You can expect to see heavy belt buckle wear, light arm wear, and light neck wear alongside the checked finish.

The Mahogany neck is super comfortable and great for both bold chordal work and subtle fingerstyle playing. It features a 25.5 scale length alongside a Gibson J-45 Historic profile, allowing for quick, easy movements. The Indian Rosewood fingerboard features a 12 radius, 19 standard frets, 43.81mm nut width, and mother of pearl dot inlays.

With Strap style open back tuners, and a traditional open slot rectangular bridge design, you can expect great stability and performance. A period-correct Gibson Custom hardshell case is also included to keep this beautiful guitar safe when not in use, and a certificate of authenticity is also included.
