Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 59 Les Paul Standard

The Gibson Custom Shop do some pretty special stuff, whether it be Re-issues of our favourites guitars of years gone by, or turning dream guitars into reality. The Gibson Custom Shop can do it all. 1959 is the golden year of Gibson Les Paul production, with less than 650 guitars manufactured, the fabled '59s found favour with the likes of Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman and Eric Clapton. However this is one '59 Les Paul that is arguably more significant than any other, that guitar is of course, "Greeny"!

Previously owned by Peter Green, it was used throughout his time with Fleetwood Mac and later sold to Gary Moore, who used it for three decades with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist. Now owned by Kirk Hammett, Greeny has passed through the hands of three legendary guitarists! Our friends at Gibson Custom spent months painstakingly analysing Greeny to deliver the most authentic replica on the market. Trust us when we say they've nailed it!

With a lightweight Mahogany body, this Greeny Les Paul benefits from a hand selected Figured Maple top for the ultimate tonewood partnership. Rich and super resonant it offers premium tone and timeless aesthetics. Each Gibson Custom Greeny is subjected to the Murphy Lab's proprietary ageing techniques, giving this guitar the look of a well used Rock 'n' Roll relic! The attention to detail is honestly stunning and does a great job of capturing Greeny's vintage vibe!

The Mahogany neck is topped with a crisp Rosewood fingerboard with classic Gibson Trapezoid inlays, this guitar looks every bit the real deal. With a 24.75" scale length and a Custom Greeny profile, it retains that classic Les Paul feel. The ABR1 Tune-0-Matic bridge and light weight tailpiece offer an authentic vintage vibe.

Our friends at Gibson have spent countless months reverse engineering Greenys original pickups in order to better understand what causes its legendary tone. These brand new Greenybuckers are built to Greeny spec and perfectly capture the originals mojo. With a really unique sonic character it is versatile, dynamic and offers crystal clear note definition.
