Hot on the heels of the greatly anticipated new Tool album, Gibson have released a limited edition Custom Shop version of Adam's number 1 guitar, his 1979 Silverburst Les Paul Custom.
This Gibson '79 Adam Jones Les Paul Custom is the ultimate way to experience what makes the Les Paul so special. With a solid Mahogany body and a 3-peice Maple Top, the Custom is finished in stunning Silverburst VOS with chrome hardware. I think it's fair to say it's a real eye catcher. Hand crafted by the expert luthiers at the Gibson Custom Shop, these extra special guitars are a real statement and are certainly more than just a signature instrument, they offer an explosion of mega tone, awesome playability and a hypnotic aesthetic that only Gibson can deliver.
The Maple neck boasts a 24.75" scale length, an Ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block inlays; it feels perfectly balanced and poised, just as a Les Paul should. With the same medium C shape neck profile as the original, it offers a great base for both monstrous riffs and slick lead lines.
Such an incredible guitar needs a pickup pairing capable of the wide range of tones a player like Adam Jones requires. Loaded with a reverse mounted Custombucker at the neck and a Seymour Duncan custom wound DDJ at the bridge, you have everything you need to replicate that crushing Tool tone!
