 When you think Punk Rock, Joe Strummer is one of the first names to pop up. Best known for his work with legendary band "The Clash", Strummer and his bandmates were a major part of creating Punk Rock, a genre which truly dominated Great Britain in the 1970s. Strummer played with such intensity and passion, he was the true embodiment of Punk culture.

For 2024, our good friends at the Fender Custom Shop are happy to announce a super limited run to celebrate the life of one of the all-time greats. Each Joe Strummer Telecaster will be crafted by Fender Master Builder, Paul Waller. With a career spanning over 25 years, Paul has certainly earned his legendary status as one of Fender's elite.

The Joe Strummer Telecaster begins with a 2-Piece offset seam Alder body finished with a Super Heavy Relic Aged Black over 3-Tone Sunburst lacquer alongside a matching painted pickguard. The attention to detail is just astonishing, Paul Waller has done a truly incredible job of recreation all the wear and tear from decades of touring.

The Plain Grain Maple neck has a super smooth finish and a AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard. It features a 7.25"radius, 60s Oval C neck shape, 21 vintage frets and of course classic dot inlays inlays. The Joe Strummer Telecaster can handle anything you through at it without even breaking a sweat, it's a great platform for both rhythm and lead playing.

To deliver those classic Joe Strummer tone, you need a strong and articulate pickup pairing designed to capture every detail of the players performance. Loaded with a pair of Josephina Hand-Wound 67 Tele pickup this Telecaster is super dynamic and responsive. The Joe Strummer Telecaster features Modern Tele wiring and has a Master Volume and Master Tone control.

In classic Master built fashion this Telecaster is loaded with premium hardware such as a 6-Saddle String Through Tele bridge, Schaller M6 Mini tuners, a brass nut and a wing string tree.
