This Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt '60s Strat Relic, crafted in 2015 by renowned Masterbuilder Yuri Shishkov is a tribute to the pre-CBS Stratocasters of the early 1960s. This guitar features a 2-piece alder body finished in a faded 3-Tone Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer, showcasing the aged patina of a well-played vintage instrument through its Relic treatment. The quartersawn maple neck, carved to a Mid '60s Style Oval "C" profile (.790" at 1st fret, .930" at 12th), is paired with an AAA-grade rosewood fingerboard featuring a 7.25" radius, 21 medium jumbo frets, and clay dot inlays, offering a 25.5" scale length for an authentic ‘60s playing feel. The AAA-grade rosewood enhances the tonal warmth and visual appeal, while in good condition with light signs of use beyond its factory Relic finish, this Strat preserves its vintage charm while delivering the quintessential pre-CBS '60s Strat tone—bright, bell-like, and articulate with a warm, organic resonance. With Yuri Shishkov’s retirement, his Masterbuilt guitars are no longer available new, making this a rare collector’s piece.
This '60s Strat Relic is equipped with standard '60s Strat single-coil pickups, expertly crafted by Shishkov to capture the raw, vintage sound of early 1960s Stratocasters, complete with the slight inconsistency that defines their character. Wired with a 5-way switch, master volume, and two tone controls, it offers versatile tonal options, from crystalline cleans to gritty leads, capturing the essence of pre-CBS Fender magic. The vintage-style synchronized tremolo with steel saddles ensures smooth vibrato action, while vintage-style tuning keys in relic’d nickel finish add period-correct aesthetics. Professionally set up by our expert luthiers at Peach Guitars, it’s ready to play straight out of its original hardshell case.

We actually sold this guitar the first time around. We managed to secure the guitar at an event back in 2015 at the Fender Custom Shop, so it was a pleasant surprise to see this one back.
