The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Fender Custom Shop Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
The Chambered Mahogany body is finished with a classic Aged Firemist Red Top and Aged Natural Back and Sides. Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The tinted Roasted 3A Flame Maple neck is finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 12" radius, 21 Jumbo frets and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play. With a slick AAA Rosewood fingerboard and a Large "C" profile measuring a .870" at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th fret, it feels great underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop Mahogany Tele needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a Custom P-90 in the neck and a Hand-Wound Loaded Nocaster in the bridge it offers a slightly alternative Telecaster flavour. Precise and delivering great tonal variation, these pickups are a great choice.
