An sort for lightweight Ash body is finished in an awesome Aged White Blonde nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes.
The Rift Sawn Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 7.25"-9.50" compound radius and 21 Medium Vintage frets, the '51 Telecaster features 10/56 "V" profile which measures out at .940" at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a hand wound crushed blackguard Tele pickup in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan SH-55 Seth Lover in the bridge, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone. It is very reminiscent of the classic neck humbucker mods people used in the early 1970's
The original '51 Telecaster's are the stuff of legend, a real collector's piece. The Fender Custom Shop '51 Tele's, well that's a player's guitar!
