The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
The Ash body is finished in a classic Butterscotch Blonde nitro lacquer, it's a real beauty! Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. The thin nitro finish also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively.
The Rift Sawn neck has a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, 21 6105 narrow tall frets, a 1.650" nut width and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play. The 52 Style U neck profile measures .860" at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th fret.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a pair of 50-51 Blackguard Pickups - handwound by Fender's Master Pickup Winder Josefina Campos - you can cover every tone you can think of. They are beautifully dynamic and handle both clean and gain incredibly well.
