The Fano Standard SP6 is a hand-built instrument crafted in Phoenix, Arizona, designed to deliver both versatility and professional performance. Its construction blends the familiar feel of a classic single-cut "Junior" style body and neck profile with the layout and electronics of a string-through solid body. This unique combination allows the SP6 to cover a wide range of tones, from warm and dynamic P90-driven sounds to the cutting clarity of a T-style bridge pickup, making it highly adaptable for a variety of playing styles and genres.
Built with an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck, the SP6 offers excellent resonance and stability. The late-50s round back neck shape (.860" to .970"), paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard and rolled edges, provides a comfortable and authentic vintage-style playing experience. Its compound 10"-16" radius fingerboard and 22 Jescar medium jumbo frets ensure smooth playability across the entire neck, while the 1.687" Graphtech Tusq XL nut and vintage-style Fano tuners deliver precise tuning stability. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish, applied with a medium distress level, gives the guitar a naturally worn-in feel without sacrificing durability.
The hardware and electronics of the SP6 are designed for reliability and tonal flexibility. A Fano full-comp bridge with compensated brass saddles offers accurate intonation and solid sustain, while the pickup configuration of a Fano P90 in the neck and a T-style single-coil in the bridge provides a wide sonic palette. With simple yet effective controls - volume, tone, and a three-way switch - players can easily dial in everything from articulate cleans to punchy, driven tones. The Fano Standard SP6 combines high-quality craftsmanship, premium materials, and thoughtful design details to create an instrument that performs exceptionally both on stage and in the studio.
