This beautiful Bourgeois was built in 1999, so it has 27 years of tone-shaping history to it already. Signed on the inside by Dana Bourgeois, it has an incredibly comfortable mahogany neck - very shallow in the hand without any bulkiness or difficult depth. However, a decent 45mm nut width means there is plenty of room for the left-hand fingers. The guitar has a spruce top and koa back and sides. Whilst some manufacturers tend to use Koa as a showpiece wood more than a tonewood, that will never be the case from Bourgeois, and this particular guitar has an amazing tone - as you would expect given its lineage. The guitar has so much clarity - the notes are crisp and punchy at the same time, with equal amounts of treble articulation and bass depth. It truly is a joy to play, with plenty of volume to boot. At some point in its history it looks like it had a full-blown active pickup installed; however this has been reduced to a simple passive undersaddle pickup, meaning there aren't lots of wires or a battery kicking around inside, helping the guitar to stay simple and light. It's hard to image getting an acoustic better than this for the price. Get yourself a beautiful, played-in, masterbuilt acoustic guitar. There is a reason that the world's finest acoustic players have all used his instruments; Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, Bryan Sutton, and Courtney Hartman to name just a few. Complete with hardcase and a full meticulous Peach Guitars setup, meaning you get a second-hand price but not a second-hand experience.
