When it comes to Yamaha acoustics, they are most well-revered for their premium Japanese-made guitars blending quality craftmanship with attention to detail.
The LJ36 has also been through A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement), a wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through temperature control, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, properties of the wood can be changed, transforming the wood to have the same characteristics of a guitar played for years. This process improves low-frequency sustain and enhances mid-to-high end response, resulting in a richer acoustic tone.
Part of their high-end L series, this particular LJ36 offers a gorgeous low-end response, but a tone that is also balanced and rich in clarity. Just playing a single note triggers a lovely series of overtones and chords ring out with beautiful sustain.
The LJ body provides a shape very similar to the Grand Auditorium which is perfect for fingerpicking and strumming big chords. The LJ36 features a solid Engelmann spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides, real Mother of Pearl inlays and a gorgeous abalone top binding and rosette. The neck offers a super comfortable C shape profile, ebony fretboard and satin finish that makes it effortless to glide across.
This guitar has a nitrocellulose finish which is known for its breathing properties by letting the wood vibrate freely. Over time this particular LJ36 has inherited some beautiful checking marks which gives it an awesome vintage feel, perfect for someone who loves a guitar with real wear and tear and that will continue to age over time. Speaking of which, the previous owner clearly loved this instrument as there is plenty of signs of previous use, making this guitar a real player's piece. To keep it safe, it also comes complete with a hard gig-bag. The advantage of this type of case is that it keeps the guitar secure whilst still being lightweight; a perfect balance between a gig bag and a hard case.
