The Walrus Audio Canvas Line Isolator/D.I. is a versatile utility pedal - designed to convert unbalanced signals into balanced outputs - ensuring clean, noise-free integration with recording interfaces and front-of-house mixers. Whether you’re using an amp-in-a-box, acoustic guitar, or bass - the Canvas provides seamless signal conversion for studio and live performance.
At its core, the Canvas functions as both a Direct Injection (D.I.) box and a Line Isolator (L.I.), allowing players to choose the optimal mode for their setup. The D.I. mode is ideal for high-impedance sources, such as electric guitars and basses, reducing the signal by -20dB (-35dB with pad engaged) for proper interfacing with mixers. The L.I. mode is optimised for low-impedance sources, such as amp simulators and keyboards, maintaining full signal strength while converting to a balanced output.
The transformer-isolated XLR output ensures low distortion and full frequency response, while the Ground Lift switch helps eliminate unwanted hum. The Sum switch allows stereo signals to be summed into a single XLR output, making it perfect for mono setups. The -15dB pad prevents distortion from hot signals, ensuring clean, transparent sound in any environment.
