The PRS S2 Studio is designed for players who require a wide range of tones in a single instrument. Equipped with two PRS Narrowfield DD single-coil pickups in the bass and middle positions and a 58/15 LT humbucker in the treble position, it provides access to crisp single-coil clarity, full vintage-inspired tones, and the depth of a humbucker. The 5-way blade switch and push/pull tone control expand these options even further, making it possible to cover everything from articulate cleans to driven rock tones without switching guitars. This level of versatility makes the S2 Studio well-suited for both stage and studio use.
Built with a maple top and mahogany back, the guitar delivers a balanced tonal response with both warmth and definition. The 22-fret, 25" scale length Pattern Regular mahogany neck and 10" radius rosewood fingerboard are designed for comfort and smooth playability, supporting a range of playing styles. PRS's signature bird inlays add a distinctive touch, while the carefully chosen tonewoods ensure clarity and sustain. Whether playing rhythm or lead, the guitar reacts consistently and allows players to get the most out of their dynamics and technique.
The S2 Studio is equipped with hardware built for reliability and performance. The PRS patented moulded tremolo offers stable pitch control, accurate intonation, and smooth operation for expressive playing. Paired with PRS Phase III locking tuners, tuning stability is maintained even under heavy use, while the lightweight design of the tuners enhances resonance and sustain. Together with the carefully selected pickup configuration, these features ensure the S2 Studio can adapt to nearly any musical setting while maintaining professional-level tone and playability.
