When you think of powerhouse British effects builders you’ll probably realise that we’re a little bit spoilt for choice! We’ve got some really impressive visionaries on this little island, making that sound in our head a tangible and achievable pursuit.

Creators of the legendary Cali76, RevivalDRIVE, DELUXE61 and SlideRIG to name just a few, it’s always a treat when Origin Effects announce a new adventure to the wildest tonal plains!
And that is exactly what they’ve done, introducing the BRAND NEW Origin Effects DCX BOOST and DCX BASS!
With some pretty illustrious older siblings to compete with, the DCX BOOST is going to have to be pretty impressive right? Yep, and man it’s fantastic, but don’t just take our word for it, check out our video below!
So what’s it all about? The DCX BOOST is a Drive pedal and Tone-Shifting tool inspired by the highly revered UA 610 preamp. Famed for its ability to add vintage, analogue colour to your sound, the UA 610 offered precise control of both level and EQ. Push it harder and the results are breathtaking, the kind of harmonic saturation that just about everyone craves!
The DCX BOOST recreates and reimagines this legendary sound, specifically for guitar (and bass via the DCX BASS). Utilising Origin’s Adaptive Circuitry, the DCX BOOST has a plethora of cleans and overdriven tones, EQ frequencies optimised for guitar and a super dynamic treble response.
The DCX BOOST offers a few additional, but highly considered, features that really help bring this pedal to life. With its Flat Frequency Response, the DCX stays flat, real flat, just like the very best high-end studio gear, the DCX BOOST does not colour your sound, that is of course, until you want it to!
The Voice Switch allows you to select between a flat response and then at two different levels of treble roll-off, super helpful when trying to tame the top end when you’re pushing the overdrive! It’s super dynamic and a great addition.
