New Release | Martin Standard Series SC-18E and SC-28E
Martin has already hit the NAMM sweet spot with last week's release of the X-Series Remastered, and they return once again to bewitch us with another glorious offering!
But first, let’s head back to NAMM 2020, Martin released one of the real statement pieces of the show, a brand new take on fusing traditional Martin magic with super modern performance. We are of course talking about the SC-13, a versatile, player focused powerhouse. With the Taylor T5z, the Godin Multiac range and the equally impressive Fender Acoustasonic series, brands have really been pushing the boundaries of what we expect from an acoustic guitar, and the Martin SC-13 is a worthy contemporary.
Arguably the most radical design in the Martin arsenal, the SC-13 has proved to be a real fan favourite, and it’s about to benefit from 2 further models, the Standard Series SC-18E and SC-28E.

With modern playability and classic looks, the all-new SC-28E pairs technology with timeless style and tone, combining SC innovation and Standard Series appointments. Its patented features include a Sure Align neck system that helps you play all the way up the neck, while the low profile velocity satin neck barrel fits comfortably in your hand, and an internal soundboard recurve for added bass response.
The gloss SC-28E features a spruce top with resonant East Indian rosewood back and sides, giving you deep bass and rich overtones whilst the gloss SC-18E features a spruce top with mahogany back and sides, for that classic Martin sound. They both feature an ebony fingerboard and bridge, nickel open gear tuners, LR Baggs Anthem electronics, and is strung with LUXE By Martin Kovar strings. Whilst the SC-18E has antique white binding, both come with a moulded hardshell case.
