The Mesa Boogie Subway WD-800 is a powerful, professional-grade bass amplifier head designed in response to player demand for a more powerful version of the classic WalkAbout Bass Head. It combines the rich, harmonically complex tube preamp of the original WalkAbout with the lightweight, high-efficiency Class D power section used in Mesa's acclaimed Subway series. This hybrid design delivers the tone and character of a tube amplifier with the modern performance and portability of a Class D platform.

The WD-800 features a comprehensive EQ section, including rotary shelving tone controls and a fully adjustable semi-parametric EQ. This configuration gives players precise control over their tone, allowing them to shape their sound to fit any musical context or performance environment. It also includes Mesa's High Pass Filter, inherited from the D-800+, which helps manage sub-lows by reducing unwanted rumble and tightening the low-end response.
