Not only does it combine the features of multiple previous units, it adds new features and does all this whilst being 35% smaller than its predecessors. This is perfect for gigging musicians that want premium, high-quality bass tones without taking up space in their rig.
The MESA Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II delivers a whole world of different tones, and adapts precisely to the use of active or passive basses. It also includes a input mute footswitch, so you can mute the outputs for silent tuning. The deep toggle switch allows for additional roundness and low-end, whilst the bright toggle adds plenty of bite and sparkle. By using the hi-pass filter you can eliminate any messy sub-frequencies that disrupt your tone, perfect for dialling in your sound in different environments.
The MESA Subway+ preamp also boasts separate gain, boost (footswitchable), and master volume control knobs that allow you to precisely dial in tones, from warm cleans, to gritty drive. It also features a fully active 4-band Baxandall EQ with bass and treble control knobs, as well as low/high mid bands to accurately shape your tone. One of the coolest features to many mention is the Voicing filter, which is a super intelligent dial that shapes the character of your EQ by modifying frequencies in certain areas with just a turn of the knob.
Another cool feature to mention is the pre/post EQ switch, this is such a versatile tool for different scenarios; the pre-EQ setting allows you to bypass your EQ, perfect for sending to front-of-house, where someone else may need to shape your sound. The post-EQ is optimal for jamming at home or recording and being able to enjoy your own fully-tailored sound. The MESA Subway also features an aux input and headphone output, a brilliant bonus for someone who wants to rock out at home with awesome tones and not disturb anyone.
