Since launching back in 1982, Mayones skilled team of world class luthiers deliver guitars of the highest quality. The Mayones Cali 4 is an instrument built to perform at the highest level.
Half the size of their regular custom basses, the Cali retains the same level of high-end precision building and premium tone woods that Mayones offer. The Cali range is constructed from leftover quality woods that have been used on their full size instruments, and rather than those cuts go to waste, they are utilised in limited numbers each year to create these ultra premium small basses. They may be small, but they are mighty!
Neck-through body design which is built to an insane level of detail and carved ergonomic precision, this bass is lightweight, extremely portable and plays superbly. The neck features an 11-ply Maple/Mahogany/Wenge/Amazaque wood combination which enables unbeatable structural stability. This is topped off with an Ebony fingerboard which feels super smooth under finger and is of the highest calibre.
The body is a lightweight Swamp Ash which is topped with a stunning Black Limba - the grain pops out the Transparent Custom Colour satin finish so well and looks super slick. Visually elegant and tonally resonant, it's a brilliant combination.
The neck heel offers unique upper fret access thanks to its special contoured design while 24 jumbo frets, a 17.1" scale length and 16" radius provide a supremely comfortable and easy playing experience.
Loaded with Mayones Velvetrone Noble Split Coil Soapbar pick-up, this bass packs a mighty wallop - beautiful punchy low end and exceptional articulation. Also featuring a Headphone Amp with rechargeable internal power supply and USB-C dedicated charging port.
Installed with Mayones X2 two-piece bridge, Mayones tuners and Schaller straplocks, the tuning stability and reliability are completely rock solid.
