With the 2025 update, Martin has taken this iconic Auditorium model and subtly refined it in all the right ways, delivering a guitar that feels more vintage, sounds more open and plays more comfortably than ever before.
At the heart of the update is the Sitka spruce Golden Era (GE) scalloped top bracing, borrowed from the Modern Deluxe Series. This bracing pattern gives the 000-18 a breathier, more responsive voice, with enhanced sustain and a touch of vintage sweetness that seasoned players will immediately recognise. Paired with solid mahogany back and sides, the result is a perfectly balanced tone - warm, articulate and rich in midrange character.
The GE Modified Low Oval neck profile retains its familiar feel but has been subtly reshaped for a more vintage aesthetic, with minimal increase in mass. It's paired with a thinner ebony fingerboard, gently bevelled comfort edge, and refined string spacing at the nut, making this one of the most comfortable 000s Martin has ever built.
Other refinements include a GE modern belly bridge with smoother corners, a long diamond neck transition, a sleeker vintage-style heel, and a nut cut on angle - all subtle touches that raise the playing experience and visual appeal.
