Martin 00-42SC John Mayer Stagecoach Edition

One of the highlights at the NAMM 2013 show, Martins spectacular Stagecoach Edition 00-42.

One already sold but we've managed to get one more.

This inspriring guitar exudes charisma.

John Mayer has been busy since he introduced the Martin 00-45SC John Mayer Stagecoach Edition - his imagined "stagecoach cowboy guitar," bedecked with gorgeous blue Paua pearl inlay throughout - at the NAMM Show in January 2012. The seven-time Grammy Award-winner put the finish- ing touches on Born and Raised, his fifth album. Released in May, Born and Raised became Mayer's third album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard "Top 200" list, a position it held for two weeks. The album also garnered rave reviews and produced two singles: "Shadow Days" and "Queen of California." Plans for a North American concert tour were derailed by a recurrence of vocal problems that silenced Mayer early in the decade, but while receiving treatment and resting his voice, he played guitar for vocalist Frank Ocean on "Saturday Night Live," at the "Love for Levon" concert honoring the late Levon Helm and on tracks for legendary pianist Chuck Leavell's next album.

As for the Martin 00-45SC John Mayer Stagecoach Edition, the very limited edition of 25 guitars sold out almost instantly. Both fans of John Mayer and fans of pearl-inlaid 12-fret 00 Martins - among the company's rarest instru- ments - were disappointed.
Fortunately, after nearly a decade of collaboration on various guitars, John Mayer and C. F. Martin & Co. were happy to join forces again to create a second "stagecoach guitar," one slightly less ornate, and while still premium, more affordable and able to
be produced in numbers sufficient to meet demand (more on John Mayer's earlier collaborations
with Martin and his remarkable career can be found in The Sounding Board, Volumes 15 and 20, archived online at
www.martinguitars.com).

The new Martin 00-42SC John Mayer Custom Signature Edition is that guitar and - in both looks and sound - it's spectacular.
