Josh Middleton is the acclaimed and highly influential guitarists of UK-based progressive metal/metalcore bands Sylosis and Architects. His riff writing and lead playing has changed the way modern guitarists approach both playing and writing. Architects are one of the hottest bands around right now so Josh needs a guitar thats up for the challenge, this new LTD JM-II certainly achieves that!
Constructed with a rich and resonant Alder body with a lush quilted maple top finished in Black Shadow Burst. This colour choice is super effective and really brings out the beauty of the top. Josh has designed his signature model based around the "M" series body shape which features a flat top and super comfortable arm contours.
This signature is heavily inspired by Josh's favourite guitars which all include the use of a bolt on neck, this is something he was keen to carry over and build this guitar around. featuring a bolt on Roasted Maple neck with an Extra Thin "U" neck shape, allowing for quick and easy movements across the neck. The Macassar Ebony fingerboard boats a 350mm radius, a 42mm nut width, 24 extra jumbo Stainless Steel frets and luminlay side dots.
To keep up with the demands of Josh's playing demands he needs a super versatile pickup set. Loaded with a pair of Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers. This set is incredibly versatile and dynamic and with the voicing controls you can cover every tone imaginable.
A key feature Josh wanted to include was the Recessed Gotoh TOM string thru bridge, he has been using this bridge for many years as he finds it a perfect reference point when quickly needing to palm mute. It is comfortable and very stable.
