The JHS Plugin is part of the Legends Of Fuzz series, recreating the rare and distinctive Jordan Boss Tone, one of the first commercially successful plug-in effects from the 1960s. Originally designed to plug directly into a guitar's output jack, the Boss Tone offered a snarly, buzzy voice with compressed sustain and mid-forward aggression.
JHS reimagines this circuit in a modern stompbox format, adding a push-button toggle for two distinct voicings. The vintage mode delivers classic compressed fuzz with metallic overtones and a gritty edge. The modern mode introduces a hard-clipping stage for louder output, enhanced sustain, and a proto-metal character with boosted mids.
Built in Kansas City and housed in a rugged enclosure, the Plugin offers a unique fuzz voice that bridges the rawness of early fuzz with contemporary punch. It runs on standard 9V DC or a single 9V battery and consumes just 4mA.
