The JHS 3 Series Glitch Delay takes the simplicity of the 3 Series format and pushes it into entirely new territory. Built around a single obsession with time-based glitching, it delivers everything from warm, classic delay tones to unpredictable, animated textures that bend, drag and warp inside the feedback path. Inspired by the ambient delay work of Bill Frisell and the experimental possibilities of the original Line 6 DL-4, this pedal locks your core delay time in place while a randomised glitch event alters playback speed in real time. The result is a delay that feels alive, shifting and reacting without ever losing your tempo.
With the Glitch control fully counterclockwise, the pedal behaves like a warm, musical delay that fits into any rig. Turn it clockwise and the probability of a glitch increases up to 50 percent, with the LED flashing in sync with each event. The Time control spans 20ms to 980ms, covering everything from tight slapback to long, atmospheric pads. Repeats introduce gentle modulation as they climb, and an internal limiter allows for endless feedback without runaway volume, letting new notes stack naturally on top of dissolving repeats.
A Mix toggle offers two preset levels: a subtle 35 percent blend or a more present 80 percent for deeper ambience. Like all 3 Series pedals, the Glitch Delay is built in Kansas City, Missouri, using high-quality components and a streamlined three-knob layout that makes it easy to dial in inspiring sounds. It is an intuitive, musical and surprisingly deep delay where no setting sounds bad.
