The Ibanez AM153FM sits in the sweet spot between full-size jazz boxes and smaller solid-body electrics. As part of the Artstar series, it's built for players who want the warmth and resonance of a semi-hollow guitar, but with a tighter, more compact feel that's comfortable for long sessions and fast, expressive playing.
The body is crafted entirely from flamed maple, top, back and sides, giving the guitar a bright, articulate voice with plenty of snap and definition. Finished in Antique Tobacco Burst, it has a classic, high-end look that suits jazz, blues, soul and fusion equally well.
A 3piece Nyatoh/Maple Artstar neck is set into the body for maximum sustain and warmth, topped with a bound Macassar ebony fretboard featuring acrylic and abalone block inlays. The medium frets receive the Artstar fret edge treatment, giving them a smooth, broken-in feel right out of the case.
Electronics come courtesy of the legendary Super 58 humbuckers, long celebrated for their warm, articulate jazz voicing and dynamic sensitivity. They excel at clean tones but also handle edge-of-breakup and bluesy grit with ease. A Tri-Sound switch expands the tonal palette further, offering series, parallel and coil-split options.
Hardware is premium throughout: a Gibraltar Artist bridge for rock-solid intonation, a Quik Change III tailpiece for easy string changes, and gold hardware to complete the upscale aesthetic.
This is a beautifully built, highly expressive semi-hollow that feels luxurious in the hands and sounds fantastic across a wide range of styles.
