The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '51 Custom Telecaster caster they really push the boundaries of Leo Fenders vision.
With an Ash body, finished in Faded Nocaster Blonde, this guitar is super resonant and has a really bold tone. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The quartersawn Flame Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius and Sanko 6105 size frets, the '51 Telecaster features a 10/56 V profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a duo of hand wound Fender 51 Nocaster single coils, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone.
The original '51's are the stuff of legend, a real collector's piece. The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Tele, well that's a player's guitar!
