The Gretsch G6134T-59 Penguin is one of those incredible guitars that seamlessly manages to honour its rich heritage whilst pushing forward with modern vision and functionality. Inspired by the Golden Era of Gretsch production, the '50s and '60s, this Penguin is one of Gretsch's rarest birds. Masterbuilt by Stephen Stern, this guitar represents the best Gretsch have to offer.
The chambered Mahogany body is finished in authentic NOS Lake Placid Blue, and with the signature banjo armrest, it looks every bit the classic Gretsch. The Mahogany neck has a rich Ebony fingerboard and sports the Hump Top Engraved inlays, these inlays have some really intricate detailing in them and are a cut above standard Gretsch inlay work. With the standard U shape profile and medium jumbo frets, it's comfortable and really well balanced.
The Dual TV Jones Classic humbuckers have incredible response and definition. They have a great dynamic range and really respond to the way you play, slick and subtle one second and roaring the next. With a treble bleed on the master volume, you get even more expressive and versatile tones from this powerhouse guitar.
A Bigsby vibrato unit offers great stability and is perfect for all those country, jazz and blues licks. A real stunner, this guitar is a great example of timeless Gretsch design.
This guitar has a small knock on the headstock as visible in our studio photographs. We have applied a large discount to reflect this.
