Joan Jett is punk rock royalty. A founding member of The Runaways and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, she has a reputation for raucous riffs and high energy performance.
Most well known for her favouring of the Gibson Melody Maker, recently Joan has been taking to the stage with a Gibson ES-339. Compact and rich in tone, it's a great choice. Gibson have now released a special edition Joan Jett signature 339. This limited run signed version is one of only 50 worldwide!
Calling on nearly two years of R&D with Joan, this guitar features a thermally-engineered chambered maple center block and thermally engineered Adirondack Spruce bracing, a first for Gibson ES guitars. The stunning AAA figured maple veneers are finished in Wine Red for a look that will always make a statement.
The Mahogany neck features a Rosewood fingerboard, round C profile and classic vintage Gibson pearloid dot inlays. Despite its smaller dimensions, this is a real players guitar, perfectly balanced and super smooth.
A pair of Burstbucker pickups deliver those classic tones, deep, rich and resonant they offer great clarity.
