Description

Collings make great guitars, with over 35 years of experience; they know a thing or two about putting together a superb guitar. The Collings OM1 JL is certainly one of their standout models!

When Bill Collings first met the brilliant young jazz musician Julian Lage, in 2014, the two began a series of in-depth conversations about their respective crafts. Lage's profound insights as a guitarist would play a key role in the creation of Collings’ T (Traditional) Series guitars. This rare collaboration, which continued right up until Bill’s passing, in July, 2017, has yielded another exceptional new guitar with an old soul. Collings are proud to present a highly personal extension of the T Series: the Julian Lage Signature OM1.

With a crisp Sitka Spruce top and Honduran Mahogany back and sides, the OM1 JL delivers depth, warmth and tonal clarity. The OM stands for "Orchestra Model" now over 80 years since the body shape was first designed it still remains a firm favourite among fingerstyle players and flatpickers alike.

A Honduran Mahogany neck boasts an Ebony fingerboard with a profile modeled after Lage's 1939 Martin 000-18.Featuring a 25.5" scale length. 14-26" Compound Radius, Medium Nickel frets, 1 11/16" Nut Width and of course gold Mother of Pearl dot inlays. It is supremely comfortable underhand, it's an absolute joy to play, beautifully well balanced and incredibly high quality.

This beaut is handcrafted in Austin, Texas and it's the real deal. Complete with a hardcase, it's ready to hit the road!
