The Sidewinder features an arched flame maple top and a chambered mahogany body. This combination enhances harmonic richness and allows air to resonate between the top and body, resulting in a livelier and more articulate tone. The use of high-quality materials ensures both durability and exceptional sound quality.
Equipped with a pair of custom-wound TV Jones pickups, the Sidewinder delivers the bright, spanky highs, smooth mids, and tight, focused low end characteristic of Gretsch guitars. These pickups feature cylinder-style magnets for a versatile and expressive tonal experience. The guitar’s intuitive control layout includes individual pickup volume controls, a master no-load tone control, and a master volume with a treble bleed circuit, allowing precise adjustments to your sound.
Aesthetically, the Sidewinder impresses with its stunning flame maple top finished in a rich Bourbon Stain nitrocellulose lacquer. Additional features include a matching headcap with a mother-of-pearl horseshoe inlay, nickel hardware, plain top metal knobs, and a tortoise plexi pickguard adorned with a coiled snake motif. These details contribute to the guitar’s distinctive and elegant appearance.
Additional features include a mahogany neck with a 12" radius ebony fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and mother-of-pearl Neo Classic thumbnail inlays. The Graph Tech Tusq XL nut, Adjusto-Matic bridge with unplated brass saddles, pinned ebony base, String-Thru Bigsby B3P tailpiece, Gotoh locking tuners, and Grover strap locks ensure optimal performance and stability. The guitar is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer and comes with a G6238 Gretsch deluxe hardshell case for protection and portability.
