The Gretsch Electromatic Jet Baritone offers a unique take on the popular Gretsch design. It’s got the same vintage aesthetics and modern playability fans love, but now with an extended 29.75” scale, giving you a totally different and inspiring voice! Baritone guitars are extremely popular these days and can be seen in the hands of some of the most talented guitarists around. They can be a really useful tool in a variety of genres. This guitar would certainly hold its own in Rock and Metal, alongside Country and Pop.
This guitar features the iconic Gretsch Jet body shape. This single cut body is a real fan favourite and gives you great access to the entire fretboard. The tone woods used for the body are mahogany and maple. This tone wood pairing has been used for decades, and for good reason! It’s super punchy, resonant, and just sounds great. The body also feature a chambered design, helping to keep the guitar as lightweight as possible.
The neck is crafted from maple and features a bolt-on construction. It’s extremely comfortable and feels great in your hand thanks to the “Performance C” neck shape. The rosewood fingerboard is dark in colour and features binding on either side. It also features 22 medium jumbo frets, pearloid neo-classic thumbnail inlays, 12” radius, and a 42.86mm nut width. The most important feature of this guitar is the scale length, which is 29.75”. Thanks to the extended scale length, this guitar can easily be tuned lower than a traditional guitar featuring a scale length between 24.75” – 25.5”. As standard, baritone guitars come tuned to “B” standard, which gives you access to some really unique sounding chords. Playing a baritone guitar is a fun experience, and this Gretsch is certainly a great example of one.
It's loaded with a pair of PureVolt Twin Six Humbuckers, which are dynamic and fun to play through. Each pickup features twelve adjustable pole pieces, allowing you to tweak them and create your dream tone. In the neck position Alnico IV magnets are paired with plain enamel wire, while in the bridge Alnico V magnets are paired with plain enamel coated wire. You can tweak your tone by adjusting the master volume knob, or the individual tone knobs. The tone knobs also feature a push-pull function, allowing you to split each pickup. Other key features of this guitar include an adjusto-matic bridge and tailpiece, die-cat sealed tuners, and a GraphTech NuBone nut.
This guitar is perfect for anyone looking to add a baritone guitar to their collection. As with all guitars purchased from Peach Guitars, this instrument will receive a full complementary setup prior to dispatch.
