Malcom Young is known as one of Rock ‘n Rolls most fiery spirits, best known for his incredible work with legendary band AC/DC. It’s Gretsch’s great privilege to pay tribute to the groundbreaking rhythm guitarist with the all-new G6131G-MY-RB Limited Edition Malcom Young Signature Jet.
Nicknamed “The Beast,” Young used this Firebird Red iteration of the guitar in early AC/DC performances and music videos including “It’s a Long Way to The Top,” before eventually making his own mods and stripping the paint job.
The Mahogany body with an arched Maple top is finished in an awesome Vintage Firebird Red, and with the delicious gold hardware, it looks every bit the classic Gretsch. It is incredibly comfortable and feels great against the body.
The Mahogany neck has a rich Ebony fingerboard and sports the Aged Pearloid Neo-Classical Thumbnail inlays, a real nice vintage touch. With 22 frets, a 12" radius and a Standard "U" profile this neck is super comfortable and easy to play.
With a TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity bridge & neck pickup alongside a TV Jones Starwood middle pickup this guitar has an awesome dynamic range and response.
A harmonica style adjusto-matic bridge offers great stability and is perfect for all those country, jazz and blues licks. A real stunner, this guitar is a great example of timeless Gretsch design.
