Originally launched in 1961 as a temporary replacement for the single cutaway Les Paul, the SG gained favour with rock and blues players who were impressed by its innovative design. Now, the Gibson SG Standard 61 represents a great mix of early '60s vision with contemporary versatility and feel.
A classic all Mahogany body finished in an Exclusive Ebony Nitrocellulose lacquer, it looks super slick whilst remaining lightweight and comfortable. The Mahogany neck is topped with a rich Indian Rosewood fingerboard adorned with Acrylic trapezoid inlays!
Classic Gibson tones come courtesy of a pair of Burstbucker humbuckers. With a really unique sonic character it is versatile, dynamic and offers crystal clear note definition.
The SG Standard 61 is delivered in a hard shell case for great protection at home or on the road.
