Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Natural

The Gibson LG-2 first appeared in 1942 during the celebrated “Banner” era and quickly earned a reputation as one of Gibson’s finest small-bodied acoustic guitars, loved for its impressive projection and warm, balanced tone. Early models featured mahogany back and sides with red spruce tops, although wartime shortages often led to creative use of materials, including maple bodies and, on occasion, all-mahogany builds.

This Gibson LG-2 is constructed using solid Mahogany back and sides, alongside a solid Mahogany top, which is reinforced with traditional scalloped x-bracing. This combination of tonewoods creates a warm, woody tone with a punchy mid range. The top features simple black binding on the top and the back, which really compliments the simple aesthetics of this model. The LG-2 All-Mahogany Faded features a sloped rectangular rosewood bridge with a closed-slot design and a bone saddle for optimal tone and sustain.
