The J-45 is arguably the most iconic acoustic model of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, the J-45 has become the most popular dreadnought produced by Gibson. It is most well-known for its big low end, huge projection and incredibly balanced tone.
Gibson have managed to bring the best of both their acoustic and electric worlds together with this particular J-45, by combining their classic round-shoulder dreadnought shape with one of their most iconic finishes, the Goldtop. The finish on this guitar looks elegant, and depending how the light lands, it almost seems to shift between a natural colour and a rich gold that sparkles and looks extravagant, giving a beautiful contrast between the two.
The J-45 boasts a mahogany SlimTaper profile neck shape, and 12" radius, which makes for a really comfortable feel, perfect for longer playing sessions. We have a lovely piece of rosewood for the fingerboard, paired with Mother of Pearl dot inlays. This J-45 is an absolute treat to play, and leaves you wanting more.
For the pickup we have a L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system, which when plugged in, sounds incredibly high-quality and natural. This makes the J-45 a stage and studio-ready instrument from the moment you pick it up and start playing.
The J-45 is also equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuning machine heads, and paired with a TUSQ nut ensures reliable, smooth tuning stability.
This J-45 dreadnought is finished with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which is perfect for players searching for that classic look without compromising tone. Nitrocellulose lacquer has properties that allow wood to vibrate freely, meaning this will not restrict the sound of the instrument, but over time it can wear and age, perfect for someone who wants that authentic "relic" look.
To keep it safe, this guitar comes with a Gibson hardcase. The advantages of this type of case are that it offers maximum protection to your instrument, from both damage and temperature changes, ensuring your guitar is safe at all times.
Here at Peach Guitars, we make sure every instrument is carefully inspected and professionally setup by our guitar techs prior to leaving us. We also provide fully tracked shipping, so you know exactly where your instrument is, and our after-sales customer service team is always on hand to help answer your questions or offer any advice.
