For years, Gibson have used the "50s" and "60s" model approach across the Les Paul range, giving players the choice between two classic vintage-inspired specifications based on different eras of the guitar. Gibson have now introduced the same concept to the ES-335 range with the new "50s" and "60s" models, Gibson is now giving semi-hollow players the same options Les Paul players have enjoyed for years. The 60s range provides features like a SlimTaper neck, T-type humbuckers, and Grover Rotomatic tuning machine heads. Whilst the 50s models retain that early traditional feel with a C rounded profile neck, PAF humbuckers and Vintage Deluxe machine heads with keystone buttons.
Featuring a semi-hollow body, crafted from three-ply maple and poplar, combined with a solid maple centerblock that enhances sustain and cuts feedback significantly. The 60s ES-335 carries all the traditional aesthetics from that era, and paired with a 60s" style pickguard, single-ply cream binding on the front and back, and black top hat knobs with silver inserts, it gives this range of guitars that classy 60s vibe.
The mahogany neck boasts a super comfortable SlimTaper shape, perfect for players who prefer a much sleeker, faster neck. Paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets and classic small block inlays. The neck feels super easy to navigate, perfect for longer playing sessions without getting fatigued. We also have Grover Rotomatic machine heads, combined with a Graph Tech nut and Tune-O-Matic bridge, which ensure excellent tuning stability. Finished with a Mother of Pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay on the headstock.
The ES-335 60s has two T-type humbuckers, these pickups provide distinct Gibson humbucker tones with plenty of bite and sustain. Each pickup is connected to its own hand-wired 500k volume and tone control, and paired with a three-way toggle switch, it offers huge tonal flexibility to the player.
The ES-335 60s range is perfect for players who favour the slimmer neck profile and sharp styling of the 60s 335's, blending classic vibes with professional performance. All ES-335 60s era guitars come complete with a Gibson hardcase. The advantages of this type of case are that it offers maximum protection to your instrument and preserves the structural integrity of your instrument.
