The Gibson ES335 50s brings back the feel and character of the earliest ES335 models from 1958, handcrafted in Nashville using the original Kalamazoo ES laminate press. Its threeply maplepoplarmaple body and solid maple centreblock deliver the sustain, resonance and feedback resistance that defined the first generation of semihollow electrics. Singleply cream binding around the top and back adds a classic vintage touch.
The mahogany neck is carved to a substantial 50s Rounded C profile that feels full and comfortable, paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard featuring 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic dot inlays, just like the original dotneck models. Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons work with the Graph Tech nut to keep tuning stable, while the headstock carries a motherofpearl Gibson logo and crown inlay.
A pair of Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets provides the warm, open and harmonically rich voice associated with the most soughtafter late50s PAF pickups. Handwired 500k volume and tone controls and a threeway toggle deliver the wide tonal range that made the ES335 a favourite across blues, rock, jazz and soul. An ABR1 TuneOMatic bridge and aluminium Stop Bar tailpiece offer excellent sustain and precise intonation.
Finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer in Vintage Tobacco Burst, Vintage Natural or Ebony, the ES335 50s includes a Gibson hardshell case. This is the choice for players who prefer the larger neck profile, long pickguard and vintagecorrect cosmetics of the earliest ES335s.
