The Gibson Custom Shop Rosanne Cash J-185 is a limited-edition acoustic guitar created in partnership with musician Rosanne Cash. This J-185 features a slightly thinner flame maple body, a thermally-aged Sitka spruce top, and a mahogany SlimTaper neck with a rosewood fretboard. Mother-of-pearl inlays and logos adorn the guitar. The guitar is equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system for amplified performance. Only 100 of these guitars will be made, and each comes with a custom case.

The Gibson Custom Shop Rosanne Cash J-185 is a limited-edition acoustic guitar designed in collaboration with singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash. Cash, a Grammy-winning artist and member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, requires a versatile instrument to accommodate her diverse musical style, which spans folk, pop, Americana, rock, and blues. This J-185 model aims to meet those needs.
The guitar features a flame maple body, slightly thinner than a standard J-185, for improved playing comfort. The top is made of thermally-aged Sitka spruce, a process that simulates the ageing of the wood to enhance its tonal qualities. The neck is mahogany with a SlimTaper profile and a 24.75-inch scale length. The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. The Gibson logo and Crown on the headstock, as well as the "Cash" logo on the pickguard, are also crafted from mother-of-pearl.
The guitar is equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system, making it suitable for both stage and studio use. The controls for volume and tone are conveniently located in the soundhole. The bridge is a traditional rosewood belly-up design, featuring mother-of-pearl Maltese crosses and dots. The guitar also features Gotoh tuners with green keystone buttons, a bone nut and saddle, and TUSQ bridge pins.
Only 100 of these instruments will be produced by the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. The guitar comes with a custom Rosanne Cash hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity.
